Inktober painted up pieces

I decided to take two of my Inktober sketches and paint them up to look nice! I suppose that is a HUGE benefit of drawing everyday(even if just small drawings). You always have a library of drawings you can go back to, to paint up or using in professional work.

Inktober!

October was also "Inktober" a pen and ink drawing for ever day of the month

Personal work for fun

I live in Arizona and during October Dias De Los Muertos really takes off. I've never really observed or celebrated it, but I do love cultural decoration. An image popped into my head and I just had to take some time and paint something for me.

Closer Detail of OA PD1 Painting

Oatley Academy - Painting Drama 1 WIP Detail

So I have this is a detail of a piece that I have been working on that started out as an Assignment for Oatley Academy. There is a lot more to this painting and as soon as I am satisfied with it I will put it out. I really think that the look of older Middle Eastern and North African design is really cool. I love the paintings of Morocco done by De La Croix, and paintings by Gerome. I think the it's really unexplored in the Fantasy Art world, or rather it's a bit caricatured in weird direction. And even in my painting I'm probably not doing justice to subtleties of such a diverse part of the world. In any case I love the look of the clothing and the costuming of this character from the movie 'Hidalgo' is just so cool, so I thought I'd include him in this pic of influences for this painting.

Digital Sketchbook - Classic Cars, again

Usually I don't throw color on top of the drawings I do in my digital sketchbook, but I wanted to take the opportunity to study how color/light hit's the surface of cars. I also, wanted to try painting based more on flat colors. This way I couldn't blend and had to be decisive about the colors I use.

I am taking Chris Oatley's Painting Drama class, to improve my visual storytelling skills and to keep learning new techniques. This piece was one of the assignments - Medusa in a state of repose.

Lady Rider

A painting I did because I love fantasy art and wanted to do something cool.

Old School Car Studies

Sketches I did of old cars. I have a "digital sketchbook" file that I have been using to draw on the computer. These were all drawn using the wacom tablet, just exercise to keep my linear perspective skills enforced. Oh and that face was just something I drew on a whim.

More prints for PCC

I sold out of the Dias de Los Muertos pieces! It was a lot of fun, I had a really good time meeting people and looking at all the art.

Some Prints for the Phoenix Comic Con

Two of my more illustrative pieces I took with me to Phoenix. I love Panda Bears and I love Sci-fi!

Phoenix Comic Con Sign!

I have not posted in a long time, I have been going to workshops and conventions (I post more work on my Facebook page). CTNx, then Massive Black and the latest being Phoenix Comic Con. This was my first time behind a table and I was not even able to get the table until 4 days before the convention! A friend agreed to share her table with me. Gathered as many prints as possible, made preparations for transportation and lodging, and set off. With such short notice I was not able to make a proper sign so I drew one myself. Just something quick to attempt to catch eyes.
